KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – The Jamaica Enterprise Improvement Company (JBDC) has opened a renovated agro-processing incubator to spice up manufacturing and export amongst micro and small agro-processors.
The European Union (EU) funded the mission, managed by the Barbados-based Caribbean Improvement Financial institution (CDB) and applied by the JBDC.
Trade, Funding, and Commerce Minister Aubyn Hill instructed the mission launch on Monday that it’s a vital milestone in Jamaica’s path towards entrepreneurial excellence.
“The initiative is a crucial step in our journey on the Ministry of Trade, Funding and Commerce, aligning completely with our strategic objective to develop and strengthen trade worth chains for export,” he mentioned.
Hill mentioned that micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) contribute considerably to Jamaica’s gross home product, roughly 44 %, including that integrating them into a sturdy export worth chain is essential to boosting their progress potential and enhancing the nation’s financial prosperity and world market presence.
