KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – Finance and Public Service Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke has tabled the Third Supplementary Estimates for the fiscal 12 months 2023/24, offering for a complete expenditure of J$1.094 trillion (One Jamaica greenback=US$0.008 cents).
The estimates characterize a rise of J$58.2 billion over the second supplementary estimate. Clarke instructed legislators that financing of the forecast is programmed from a projected J$ 43.1 billion enhance in revenues and grants.
He mentioned this could primarily comprise elevated tax revenues of J$35.8 billion, non-tax funds totaling J$6.1 billion, and grants amounting to at least one billion {dollars}.

The extra J$39.1 billion in non-debt recurrent expenditure includes J$1.4 billion to recurrent applications, J$37.2 billion for compensation of workers, and J$0.6 billion to different outflows, consisting of loans to public our bodies.

The Finance Minister mentioned J$200 million had been budgeted for the Ministry of Labour and Social Safety to offer compassionate grants; J$260 million will go to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining for farm roads; J$126 million to the Ministry of Tradition, Gender, Leisure and Sport, together with J$31.5 million to help the event of sports activities and cultural applications for youth.
The federal government mentioned that J$1.6 billion had been allotted to help compensation restructuring funds for central authorities companies in addition to the Jamaica City Transit Firm (JUTC), which can obtain J$472 million, in addition to J$345 million to the College Hospital of the West Indies and J$395 million to the Caribbean Maritime College.
The Home’s Public Administration and Appropriations Committee (PAAC) will contemplate and report on the Estimates on October 4.
