ST. John’s JOHN’s, Antigua, CMC -The College of the West Indies (UWI) has introduced the appointment of Dodridge D. Miller because the establishment’s seventh Chancellor—the best office-holder in The UWI.
Miller, who is predicted to serve a seven-year time period starting August 1, 2024, will succeed Robert Bermudez, who has served as Chancellor since 2017.
At its digital annual enterprise assembly held on Friday, members of the College Council accepted the advice of the Chancellor’s Search Committee to nominate Miller.
A graduate of UWI, Miller is a Caribbean luminary with over 30 years of management expertise in banking, insurance coverage, and monetary providers.
With a distinguished profession spanning over 20 years because the Group President and CEO of Sagicor Monetary Firm, Miller brings a wealth of management expertise to his new function as Chancellor.
Upon his appointment being confirmed, Miller reaffirmed his unwavering dedication to The UWI’s mission, stating, “It’s with nice humility that I settle for your appointment as Chancellor of this distinguished and important College. For many of my grownup life, I’ve been an advocate for a robust, vibrant UWI.
As a company govt I demonstrated my help on your mission and remained dedicated to the knowledge of your path as you sought to construct the capability of the area’s human capital. As Chancellor, I’ll attempt to uphold the strong ideas and values of the College, and along with your steering and help, I hope to contribute to the essential activity of fashioning a sustainable Caribbean that may have interaction the remainder of the world on equal phrases.
I stay up for being part of UWI’s journey in the direction of the continued growth of our area. I’m honored.”
