Armed thieves in Belize on Monday tried a brazen narco-trafficking operation involving the theft of an plane from a home airline.
The ordeal ended tragically when the stolen single-engine airplane, a Cessna Caravan turboprop valued at roughly US$3 million, crashed and burst into flames shortly after takeoff.
Airport heist and fateful takeoff
In response to stories, the heist started when two armed males confronted and overpowered a safety guard on the Belizean airport.
