Final Sunday, the who’s who of the Pan group gathered on the Downsview Park of headquarters of Pan Fantasy Steelband to rejoice World Steelpan Day. The Day was declared by the United Nations to lift consciousness of the cultural and historic significance of the Steelpan, the Nationwide Musical Instrument of Trinidad and Tobago (T&T), and its hyperlink to sustainable growth. The day might be noticed yearly on August 11th
The occasion was held below the auspices of the Consulate of Trinidad and Tobago in Toronto, which was represented by Tracey Ramsubagh-Mannette, Consul Basic.
The host, Pan Fantasy, led a lot of the highest bands within the metropolis – Afropan, New Dimension, Silhouettes, and Panatics. The spotlight of the night was the Trinidad & Tobago-based FC Supernova metal orchestra.
The occasion went nicely into the evening because the thousand-odd attendees, who got here to rejoice Trinidad & Tobago’s musical reward to the Caribbean and the remainder of the world, couldn’t get sufficient of the great accompanied by traditional Caribbean food and drinks.
