West Indies Girls’s head coach, Shane Deitz, says his staff wants to handle “numerous areas” following a disappointing tour of India, which concluded not too long ago on the Kotambi Worldwide Cricket Stadium.

The West Indies misplaced the T20I sequence 2-1 and have been swept 3-0 within the following One Day Worldwide sequence.
Throughout a post-match press convention, Deitz mentioned, “We’ve got to have the ability to bowl six balls in a single spot, not simply 4 balls after which launch the strain. We’ve got to have the ability to construct strain for longer.”

“Our angle, our health as effectively, that’s an enormous factor. Our batters throw their wicket away at 30, 40, you must go on and make 100, that’s ODI cricket. These are the primary areas”.

He added that with regional tournaments slated for early 2025, together with sequence towards Bangladesh, South Africa, and England, the West Indies Girls had a packed cricket schedule.

Nevertheless, he maintained that their major focus could be to qualify for the 2025 Girls’s World Cup, which will probably be hosted in India from August to September.
“We’ve got the Bangladesh sequence arising after which our Regional 50-over competitors and the Qualifiers, they’re simply after that, so we’ve got to make it possible for we qualify for the World Cup first, after which we’ve got sequence towards England and South Africa.

“So, we’ve got loads of cricket arising, however we’ve got to verify we play effectively in that Qualifier to verify we’re right here subsequent 12 months for that World Cup,” Deitz mentioned.

Following the West Indies opening match on Dec. 22, India amassed a formidable 314 for 9 from their 50 overs, their second-highest complete at house in an ODI. This led to the West Indies going through their worst ODI defeat by an embarrassing 211 runs.

Then, on Dec. 24, India once more gathered 358 for 5, their joint-highest ODI rating, to win by 115 runs and take an indestructible 2-0 lead within the three-match sequence.
Deitz mentioned, “[Our bowling] has been very disappointing. The previous few months main as much as the World Cup, bowling was an actual power of ours.”

“We haven’t been in a position to bowl constant traces and lengths or bowl to a discipline, and on the great wickets right here with quick outfields, you’ve bought to have the ability to reduce off one aspect of the sector and have the ability to bowl to a discipline. We haven’t been in a position to do this,” Deitz defined.

“We’ve been leaking two unhealthy balls an over going for 4 minimal, and the Indian staff have batted rather well, punished something we’ve missed.
“Clearly, Chinelle Henry is our key quick bowler, and she or he’s been out injured, which has been a giant miss for us. We haven’t been in a position to get wickets within the energy play,” he added.
