The Girls in Maritime Affiliation Caribbean (WiMAC) lately carried out a Regional Convention and sixth Annual Normal Assembly, which was hosted beneath the theme, “Navigating Horizons: Mobilizing Stronger Networks for Caribbean Girls in direction of a Sustainable Maritime Business.”
The convention introduced collectively members affectionately referred to as SEAsters from roughly 15 nations throughout the Caribbean. It was hosted from the third to the fifth of October 2023, on the Convention Centre of Ocean Coral Spring Resort, Trelawny, Jamaica.
New beginnings: Welcoming the governing council

The newly elected WiMAC Governing Council consists of the President – Dr. Evette Smith Johnson (Jamaica), Rapid Previous President – Mrs. Tamara Lowe- James (Dominica), Vice President, Analysis and Growth- Ms. Suzette Balkaran (Trinidad and Tobago), Director of Finance -Ms. Ilaisa Lila (Suriname), Vice President, Public Relations and Advertising and marketing – Mrs. Tricia King (St. Kitts and Nevis), Vice President, Membership- Ms. Abigail Bryan (Jamaica), Member-At-Giant, – Ms. Carlita Benjamin ( Dominica ), Director of Company Affairs- Ms. Raquel Forbes (Jamaica), Vice President, Girls and Growth –Mrs. Katina Benn (Guyana), and the Operations Supervisor – Ms Valerie Simpson (Jamaica).
Scholar chapter: A recent wave of enthusiasm
A big spotlight was the inclusion of 80 ardent members from the freshly inaugurated Scholar Chapter on the Caribbean Maritime College, launched in alignment with World Maritime Day on September twenty eighth.

The Annual Normal Assembly, unique to members, was a wealthy tapestry of numerous representations.
