The US Coast Guard says the crew of its Cutter Bernard C Webber repatriated 33 migrants to Haiti on Monday following an interdiction of a “migrant enterprise” close to Fort Pierce Inlet, Florida.
The US Coast Guard mentioned that earlier this month, an excellent Samaritan notified Sector Miami watchstanders of a grounded fishing vessel.
“US maritime borders aren’t open to unauthorised entry or illicit trafficking,” mentioned Lieutenant Commander Sean Newmeyer, Coast Guard District Seven.
“(The) Coast Guard and our companions are dedicated to stopping unlawful ventures, stopping unsafe voyages at sea and implementing US immigration legal guidelines and rules,” he mentioned.

The US Coast Guard mentioned its crews repatriated 53 migrants to Haiti in fiscal yr 2024, which started on October 1, 2023.
