A United States (US) citizen who lives in Guyana was arrested on the John F Kennedy Worldwide Airport and charged with illegal importation of a managed substance after admitting to smuggling 18.45 kilograms (roughly 40 kilos) of cocaine into america.
Zacharie Scott, 22, was arrested on January 19 following a routine secondary screening of his baggage by Customs Brokers on the JFK airport upon his arrival from Guyana.
Through the screening of his two suitcases, Customs officers discovered luggage of frozen shrimp between which had been blocks of a white powdery substance which examined constructive for cocaine.
