PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC—The Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (AATT) mentioned Friday that flights into Piarco Worldwide Airport (PIA) had resumed after the runway had been closed for a number of hours as a result of a hearth on the Amerijet warehouse facility on the south terminal.
The reason for the hearth has not been disclosed.
In a quick assertion, the AATT mentioned that “airport operations have resumed” and that it had “ beforehand suggested passengers that they need to liaise with their airways since flights could also be delayed on account of the runway closure.”
In an earlier assertion, the AATT mentioned, “The fireplace is now beneath management,” and that flight operations will resume as quickly as clearance is obtained from the Trinidad and Tobago Fireplace Service and the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority.
The AATT didn’t point out what number of flights had been affected by the suspension of operations on the airport
