The Guyana Defence Drive (GDF) has confirmed the lack of 5 service members following a helicopter crash on Wednesday.
The incident occurred within the Arau village, positioned close to the border of Guyana and Venezuela.
Reviews are that two younger troopers survived the crash.

Finding the lacking helicopter
The GDF revealed that the crash occurred in the course of the second day of an intensive search and rescue operation to find the helicopter which went lacking at about 11:20 Wednesday morning.
A particular forces staff was dispatched to the positioning at roughly 2:30 on Thursday afternoon.
The people aboard the helicopter had been recognized as Lieutenant Colonel Michael Charles, Retired Brigadier Gary Beaton, Lieutenant Colonel Sean Welcome, Lieutenant Andio Michael Crawford, Sergeant Jason Khan, Corporal Dwayne Jackson, and Colonel Michael Shahoud
GDF has ordered all its flags to be flown at half-mast following the confirmed deaths.
Brigadier Omar Khan, Chief of Employees of the Guyana Defence Drive (GDF), clarified in a latest media convention that there isn’t any proof indicating Venezuelan plane involvement within the disappearance of a GDF helicopter.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
