Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited Saldenah Carnival (Mas Camp) yesterday, and obtained a heat welcome from a busy camp of well-wishers. The PM was accompanied by MPs Marcie Ien and Michael Coteau amid a heavy safety presence.
Greeting Trudeau have been Louis Saldenah, Jennifer Hirlehey, Pageant Administration chair, Mischa Crichton, Chief Govt Officer, and Basic Supervisor Adrian Charles.
“An important factor is to see if this brings a lift to the pageant,” stated Saldenah.
“Lots of people come out and watch the parade free; the politicians don’t notice how rather more than glue goes in to producing mas. And I feel it could assist the entire band leaders, since you’re going to comprehend that it takes a giant manufacturing crew to supply all these costumes. In a broader sense, when the FMC applies for funding from the federal authorities, no less than they [the government] have an concept of what it takes to do this type of manufacturing.”
An optimistic Mischa Crichton added: “I’m so hopeful that this go to from the Prime Minister is an indication of the popularity and impression of the Caribbean neighborhood tradition on Canada. We’re one of many largest the explanation why Canada will get to say that they’ve a tradition that’s numerous, that they’ve a tradition that is filled with artwork and expression. I’m hopeful that it’s going to make a distinction in that we’re going to see the funding we want and should proceed our legacy.”
The PM, as is his model, was fairly comfy on the camp, whilst his safety element saved him nicely insulated for apparent causes.
Even so, the go to wasn’t hurried because the PM, in his model, embraced as many as he might.
The hope now’s that Trudeau extends a beneficiant hand to make sure that the Carnival will get what it must stage an ideal present.
