TRINIDAD-Trinidad and Tobago Declares State of Emergency
PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC—A state of emergency has been declared within the twin-island republic. In a press release early Monday, the administration of Dr. Keith Rowley stated that “Below part 8 of the Structure of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Her Excellency Christine Carla Kangaroo, ORTT, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and Commander-in-Chief, has, on the recommendation of Dr the Honourable Keith Rowley, Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, declared a state of public emergency being glad that the circumstances of part 8(2)(c) of the Structure exist.
“The circumstances warranting the declaration of the general public emergency are based mostly on the recommendation of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service to the Nationwide Safety Council of heightened prison exercise which endangers the general public security.”
