On August 1, The College of the West Indies (The UWI) welcomes Dr Dodridge Miller as its new Chancellor, the seventh holder of the very best workplace within the regional college system.
The College Council appointed Chancellor Miller at its annual enterprise assembly earlier this 12 months. In response to the College’s Statutes and Ordinances, “the Chancellor shall preside at conferences of the Council [the highest governing body of the regional university] and any Convocation and shall have such powers and carry out such duties as could also be conferred upon the holder of the workplace of Chancellor by The UWI Constitution or any Statute, Ordinance or Regulation.”
Chancellor Miller, a distinguished graduate of The UWI, brings a wealth of expertise to his new function. He’s considered a real Caribbean luminary with over 30 years of management within the banking, insurance coverage, and monetary providers sectors, together with a profitable tenure because the Group President and CEO of Sagicor Monetary Firm till his retirement in March 2023.
