The Artwork Gallery of Burlington is internet hosting an exhibition of the work of Trinidadian visible artist Sybil Atteck.
The exhibition which opened on October 20 final and runs till January 7, contains Atteck’s work, drawings, and archival supplies starting from the Thirties to the Seventies.
Atteck who died in 1975, was a founder and early chief of the Trinidad Artwork Society (now often known as the Artwork Society of Trinidad and Tobago). She studied artwork in England, Peru and the USA and taught artwork at a number of secondary faculties in Trinidad.
Keith Atteck, a nephew of the artist, who lives in Burlington and has been researching the historical past of his household, stated he had approached the artwork gallery and talked to the curator about “the opportunity of an exhibition of Sybil’s work.
“The curator was and the gallery determined to host the exhibition.”


He stated the work of his aunt “spanned the period of pre-independent Trinidad and Tobago, by the push for independence, and after it was achieved.”
She had created greater than a thousand artworks, he famous.
