CASTRIES, St. Lucia, CMC—The St. Lucia authorities stated Wednesday it had uncovered a fraudulent social media account impersonating Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre.
In a press release, the Workplace of the Prime Minister stated that the account circulating on varied platforms is meant to deceive people by soliciting cash beneath false pretenses. “We need to make clear that this account doesn’t symbolize Philip J. Pierre in any capability. Moreover, any social media account bearing the title of Philip J. Pierre won’t ask you to ship any cash, banking info, or different private info,” the assertion stated.
“We urge the general public to be vigilant and cautious when partaking with any on-line profiles claiming to be related to the Prime Minister, Hon. Philip J. Pierre.”
The assertion urges individuals who “encounter this faux account and are solicited for cash or any private info (to) to please report it instantly to the respective social media platform.
“Your help in combating this fraudulent exercise is essential in defending our group from potential hurt. We’ll proceed to watch the state of affairs carefully and take needed actions to mitigate any additional unfold of misinformation,” the assertion added.
