    SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Forecasters in Bermuda warned Wednesday of harmful swells and rip currents as Hurricane Nigel spun by open waters within the northern Atlantic.

    The Class 1 hurricane was situated about 650 miles (1,045 kilometers) east-northeast of Bermuda. It had most sustained winds of 90 mph (150 kph) and was shifting north at 18 mph (30 kph).

    Bermuda has felt the brunt of three storms prior to now month, though none have been a direct hit.

    “This has been a really lengthy and relentless hurricane season,” mentioned Nationwide Safety Minister Michael Weeks.

    The Nationwide Hurricane Heart in Miami mentioned Nigel has probably reached peak depth and is anticipated to start out weakening later Wednesday because it strikes into cooler waters and encounters robust wind shear.
