The Metropolis of Miramar, in proud partnership with the Embrace Music Basis, is happy to announce the return of the twelfth Annual Rhythms of Africa on April 26 & 27, 2025, on the Miramar Cultural Middle.
This dynamic cultural occasion, hosted by Mayor Wayne Messam, will showcase the unbelievable skills of native youth alongside internationally acclaimed musicians, providing a musical expertise in contrast to some other.
Beneath the management of world-renowned Reggae Ambassador Willie Stewart, college students from Somerset Academy Excessive College will take the stage after simply 40 hours of coaching in African drumming and percussion. They are going to be joined by a star-studded lineup, together with legendary reggae icon Ken Boothe, violinist Demola, performer Jiggy Jack & Jacky Ambroise (previously referred to as Strings), and the incomparable Rhythms of Africa Band.
“This occasion embodies the spirit of our group—giving younger folks a possibility to attach with their heritage via the facility of music,” stated Mayor Wayne Messam. “Watching these college students develop from novices to expert performers is really inspiring.”
Program founder and music director, Willie Stewart, former drummer of Third World, emphasised the occasion’s deeper influence: “Music modifications lives. These younger performers have poured their hearts into this journey, exhibiting us all how rhythm and dedication can unite communities throughout generations.”
