It’s with a heavy coronary heart that I specific my deepest sorrow for the devastating impression Hurricane Beryl, a Class 4 hurricane, has had on the Caribbean, hanging lower than forty-eight hours after our area celebrated the profitable conclusion of the ICC Males’s T20 World Cup in Barbados. As a citizen of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, it’s particularly painful to witness the tragic loss in Union Island and the catastrophic harm to Carriacou and Petite Martinique a part of the tri-island state of Grenada.
The aftermath of Hurricane Beryl is a stark reminder of the vulnerability our area faces. The destruction and loss are profound, and the street to restoration might be difficult. Nonetheless, within the spirit of unity and resilience that characterizes the West Indies, we are going to rise to satisfy these challenges head-on.
Our ideas and prayers are with our brothers and sisters in Jamaica as Hurricane Beryl approaches, urging all to take vital precautions.
Cricket West Indies stands in solidarity with all these affected by this calamity. We pledge our unwavering assist. Now greater than ever, we should unite and “Rally around the West Indies.” Collectively, we are going to rebuild and emerge stronger.
