    Nonprofit led by Guyanese native celebrates achievements of young girls – Caribbean Life

    The Guyanese Ladies Rock Basis (GGRF) held its annual Scholarship & Awards Fundraising Luncheon on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Leonard’s Palazzo, positioned at 555 Northern Blvd., Nice Neck, New York.

    This extremely anticipated occasion, hosted by Guyanese journalist, Tracey Khan, celebrated the exceptional achievements of highschool ladies of Guyanese descent and honored distinctive neighborhood leaders.

    The luncheon featured the commencement of the group’s Younger Ladies’s Management Academy (YWLA) members, who demonstrated excellence in management, educational achievement, and private improvement.

    This 12 months’s honorees included Dr. Rosalind October, acknowledged for her distinctive contributions to the neighborhood and unwavering dedication to Guyanese arts and tradition, and four-time Guyanese Olympian Aliann Pompey, for her distinctive contributions to the sports activities neighborhood and dedication to empowering and galvanizing younger girls and ladies.
