A Nigerian man has obtained a three-month jail sentence after pleading responsible to orchestrating an attack on President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali’s official residence in 2022.
Justice of the Peace Leron Daly of the Georgetown Justice of the Peace’s Courtroom delivered the decision on Monday, convicting Bethel Chimezie of discharging a loaded firearm with Intent, in opposition to Presidential Guard Quincy Cummings.
Particulars of the incident
Stories are that on December 15, 2022, Chimezie launched an assault on the President’s residence, capturing at two presidential guards and stabbing Telon Perreira after being denied entry to State Home.
In recognition of Perreira’s valor through the assault, Perreira was promoted by President Ali.
Lowered sentence and supervised probation
The Guyana Police Pressure mentioned Chimezie confronted a most sentence of 15 months in jail, however the jail time period was decreased after Daly thought of the time he spent on remand.
