Trinidadian Rhea Smith, a board member of the Brooklyn-based West Indian-American Day Carnival Affiliation (WIADCA), organizer of the annual West Indian-American Carnival in Brooklyn, says {that a} groundbreaking collaboration for Trinidad and Tobago Carnival 2024 has emerged on the worldwide cultural stage with the formation of a brand new worldwide initiative known as “Tradition Match.”

“’Tradition Match’ goals to bridge the hole between regional chief Trinidad & Tobago and main Caribbean-American hubs, beginning with New York Metropolis,” Smith stated. “The initiative will likely be rolling out a collection of ‘Pump Pop-ups,’ which is able to happen throughout carnival seasons and Caribbean Heritage Month for 2024.

“’Tradition Match’ coalition members are devoted to showcasing and selling Caribbean tradition, traditions and music by way of soca, health, mas’ and steelpan,” she added.

Impressed by Trinidad and Tobago’s “Best Present on Earth”, Smith stated the coalition seeks to  develop “progressive ideas and experiences that develop the footprint of Trinidad and Tobago’s Carnival traditions to the subsequent era of cultural customers below the shared banner of affection and unity by way of cultural appreciation, training and small enterprise illustration.”

Smith stated WIADCA is “excited to work alongside all companions on a motion that’s rising each within the states and in Trinidad (and Tobago).

“’Tradition FIT’ is impressed by the music, motion and traditions of carnival — all of which retains us stronger collectively,” she added.

Smith stated the schedule of occasions consists of: Bermudez Biscuit’s Carnival Burn with Pablo Match Addicts & Wukkout!
