In a proud second for the Metropolis of Miramar and the broader Bahamian American group, Commissioner Avril Cherasard was honored with the celebrated Glass Ceiling Award by the Treasure Coast Bahamian Connection Group (TCBCO) on July 12.

The award was introduced throughout TCBCO’s annual gala, which celebrates trailblazing American and Bahamian girls whose achievements have damaged obstacles and impressed future generations.
Commissioner Cherasard, the primary Bahamian American girl elected to the Miramar Metropolis Fee, was acknowledged alongside a powerful slate of honorees, together with Shanta Knowles, the primary feminine Bahamian Commissioner of Police; Katherine Fernandez Rundle, the primary Cuban American State Legal professional; Waltiea Rolle, the primary Bahamian WNBA participant; and Linda Hudson, the primary feminine Mayor of Fort Pierce.

Commissioner Cherasard was born and raised in Nassau and migrated to the U.S. as a teen.
