Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett, emphasised the essential function of reimagining Caribbean tourism to bolster trade resilience.
Talking on the Council of Ministers in the course of the Caribbean Tourism Group’s (CTO) Caribbean Week in New York on June 18, Minister Bartlett advocated for transformative adjustments geared toward fortifying the area.
Strategic imaginative and prescient amidst challenges
Throughout Caribbean Week, held along side Caribbean-American Heritage Month, Minister Bartlett underscored tourism’s pivotal place because the lifeblood of the Caribbean.
He pressured the need of adapting to evolving calls for and potential disruptions post-COVID-19, highlighting the crucial for strategic reassessment.
Collaborative evolution
Acknowledging the decision from the CTO Secretariat to reimagine the group, Minister Bartlett endorsed a shift from competitors to “co-petition.”
