A former Miami-Dade college instructor, 29-year-old Mauricio Alexander Ruiz, appeared in courtroom over the weekend after being charged with “offenses towards a pupil.”
In response to police, in 2021, Ruiz was a component time instructor at West Miami Center College in Coral Means when he was in communications with a 13-year-old pupil.
In the course of the course of their relationship, police stated, Ruiz and the coed would have video calls and would ship cash to the coed in change for his or her specific photographs in return.
On Friday, Ruiz was arrested. He was nonetheless instructing at Thomas Jefferson Center College, positioned at 525 NW 147th St. on the time of his arrest.
Ruiz has since bonded out of jail.
