The Dominican Republic’s Olympic gold medalist Marileidy Paulino and Puerto Rico’s Jasmine Camacho-Quinn each secured the highest money awards every after dominating their respective occasions on the inaugural Athlos NYC track meet, an all-female competitors held on Thursday.
The celebrated occasion featured six races, providing important prize cash: US$60,000 for the winners, $25,000 for second place, $10,000 for third, with fourth, fifth, and sixth place incomes $8,000, $5,000, and $2,500, respectively.
Paulino, the reigning World and Olympic champion within the 400 metres, prolonged her streak of victories, successful with a time of 49.49 seconds. The USA’s Alexis Holmes positioned second in 49.99 seconds, whereas Bahrain’s Salwa Eid Naser completed third, clocking 50.44 seconds.
