    Marcia Griffiths joins Beres Hammond, Cham for reggae magic this weekend – Caribbean Life

    Reggae icon Marcia Griffiths, now celebrating an unbelievable 61 years in music, will share the stage with Beres Hammond, Cham, and Girl Da Flame for this weekend’s Beres Hammond & Buddies live performance collection within the Tri-State space.

    The reveals are set for Saturday, Aug. 16, at NJPAC in Newark, NJ, and Sunday, Aug. 17, on the Coney Island Amphitheater in Brooklyn.

    “For the ‘Queen of Reggae,’ it’s a heartfelt reunion with a metropolis and viewers which have embraced her for many years,” New York-based, Jamaican-born leisure publicist Anthony “ER Guru” informed Caribbean Life on Tuesday, Aug. 12.

    Griffiths mentioned, “I’ve a really particular love for my viewers in New York. I don’t know what it’s, however there’s one thing about them that I sit up for assembly.”

    She mentioned her friendship with Beres Hammond runs deep.

    “That’s a really particular particular person to me,” Griffiths mentioned. “I consider I knew him in one other life.

    “We’re all the time laughing nonstop,” she added. “I usually surprise how he writes lyrics that match issues I’m experiencing with out even understanding.”

    With Cham bringing dancehall warmth, Hammond delivering his signature lovers’ rock soul, and Griffiths including her timeless reggae magnificence, “the concert events promise to be a wealthy celebration of Jamaican music throughout eras,” Turner mentioned.

    Griffiths’s mission has all the time been clear: “In case you can contact the soul with the music, then you recognize that the mission is completed.”
