The Toronto Police Service introduced the arrival of carnival season final Thursday morning with the thirty third Annual Toronto Caribbean Carnival Kick-Off Celebration. The occasion, which included a media convention, passed off on the Eastview Neighbourhood Neighborhood Centre.
In partnership with the Eastview Neighbourhood Neighborhood Centre, the Toronto Police Service hosted the celebration and kids’s parade at 86 Blake Avenue and the neighbouring Kempton Howard Park. This yr’s theme was “It Takes a Village.”
Chief Myron Demkiw was joined by Toronto Police Service Board Chair Ann Morgan, in addition to dignitaries and members of neighborhood organizations, who addressed the media and the kids. The occasion was emceed by tv host Akil Augustine.

The park was renamed in 2007 in honor of Kempton Howard, a neighborhood resident and youth employee who was tragically killed.
