    Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett has been acknowledged with the Order of Jamaica and Honorary Doctorate for his contribution to the event of the trade.

    The Jamaica Vacationer Board (JTB) stated on Tuesday that the Order of Jamaica, the nation’s fourth highest honor, lauds Bartlett’s “excellent contribution to the nation’s tourism sector.”

    The conferment of an Honorary Doctorate in Hospitality & Tourism Administration (Honoris Causa) by the College of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC) additionally acknowledges Bartlett’s “distinctive contribution to the tourism trade, each regionally and globally”, JTB stated. 

    “I’m really humbled and honored to be acknowledged on this method,” Bartlett stated. “These awards not solely communicate to my effort within the area however places tourism within the international highlight for its contribution to economies and livelihoods. 

    “This enables us to understand tourism as one of many single most essential financial actions on this planet and supplies an area for severe dialogue on constructing its resilience,” he added. 

    JTB stated that below Barlett’s management, “Jamaica has seen record-breaking customer arrivals and vital development in tourism income, solidifying the nation’s place as a premier Caribbean vacation spot.
