HOUSTON – Jamaica’s Ambassador to the USA, Audrey Marks, honored former Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee throughout her funeral. Marks acknowledged Jackson-Lee as an excellent chief with Jamaican roots.
Ambassador Marks was requested by the household of the late congresswoman to talk at Fallbrook Church in Houston, Texas. She emphasised the significance of August 1st, which marks the a hundred and ninetieth anniversary of the top of slavery in Jamaica and the British Caribbean.

Describing Jackson-Lee’s work as “robust and brave,” Ambassador Marks counseled her unwavering dedication to justice, her ardour for making a distinction, and her dedication to religion and household life. “She was the embodiment of what it means to be in service of others, to face up for Justice, Brotherhood and Peace, and to suppose generously and truthfully,” Marks declared.
The Ambassador praised Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee’s legacy. She believes it should encourage future generations. Her values are necessary to each her adopted residence and her ancestral land.
