Jamaica Olympic 100-meter sprinter Asafa Powell will likely be honored with the 2024 Bleu & Bougie Affect Award on the upcoming Elite Weekend get together collection on March 16 and 17 on the iconic Devon Home in Kingston, Jamaica.
New York’s Bleu & Bougie co-producer Jerry McDonald advised Caribbean Life on Monday that Powell will likely be honored for “the affect he has made in monitor and discipline globally.”
“We acknowledge Asafa for setting the 100-metre world file twice, between June 2005 and Might 2008, with instances of 9.77 and 9.74 seconds, and for constantly breaking the 10-second barrier in competitors, with a private better of 9.72 second, which ranks fourth on the all-time record of males’s 100-metre athletes,” he mentioned.
McDonald mentioned Powell, considered the “Sub 10 King” in athletics, has damaged the 10-second barrier 97 instances within the 100m, “which is extra instances than another athlete.”
