KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – The marketing campaign chairman of the ruling Jamaica Labour Occasion (JLP), Dr Christopher Tufton, has been given a deadline to retract a recording of a retired legislator from the principle opposition Folks’s Nationwide Occasion (PNP), Ok.D.Knight, that was performed at a mass assembly of the JLP on Sunday.
Within the recording, Knight was heard suggesting he has no confidence in PNP President Mark Golding’s capacity to guide Jamaica.
The legislation agency Knight, Junior & Samuels has written to Tufton, stating that the recording was manipulated and has demanded a public retraction of the recording by 11 am (native time) on Friday.
The letter says the retraction and apology have to be agreed on by each authorized groups, despatched to all media homes, and printed on the Jamaica Labour Occasion’s social media pages.
It says a retraction might assist mitigate the injury brought about to Knight, however wouldn’t waive his proper to take authorized motion.
The legislation agency says it’s ready to barter a settlement with Tufton’s attorneys.
