KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – Colleges throughout the island are anticipated to conduct earthquake security drills subsequent Wednesday, January 17, which will likely be noticed as Earthquake Consciousness Day in Colleges.
A bulletin issued by the Ministry of Training and Youth (MoEY) said that the Workplace of Catastrophe Preparedness and Emergency Administration (ODPEM) will launch the Earthquake Consciousness Marketing campaign on Sunday underneath the theme ‘Drop, Cowl, Maintain, Earthquake Readiness Is Inside Our Management,’ with a collection of actions scheduled till January 31.
The Ministry has suggested faculty directors to make use of the day to enhance their faculties’ preparedness ranges.
The train will contain staff, academics, and college students defending themselves utilizing the ‘drop, cowl, and maintain on’ security process throughout a simulated earthquake alarm.
Earthquake Consciousness Shows may even be mounted at Parish Libraries throughout the island on that day.
