KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC—The Andrew Holness administration will make investments greater than J$2.63 billion to buy 100 buses to spice up the fleet on the Jamaica City Transit Firm Restricted (JUTC).
The Cupboard has authorised the award of a US$18,900,000 contract to Von’s Motor and Firm Restricted for supplying and delivering the Compressed Pure Gasoline (CNG) buses.

Talking within the Home of Representatives earlier within the 12 months, Transportation Minister Daryl Vaz stated the CNG-fueled buses are anticipated to reach in time for the beginning of the 2024/25 educational 12 months in September.
He stated the buses might be a part of the 300 mixed-energy models that the Authorities will purchase over the following three years to spice up the State-run JUTC’s fleet and handle wants within the public transportation system.
The JUTC operates over 70 routes within the Company Space and within the cities of Portmore and Spanish City within the central parish of St Catherine.
