    Haitian national nabbed for allegedly raping child in Massachusetts migrant shelter – Caribbean Life

    The US Customs and Enforcement (ICE) company stated on Tuesday that brokers from its Enforcement and Removing Operations (ERO) in Boston, Massachusetts have apprehended an unlawfully current 26-year-old Haitian nationwide accused of aggravated rape of a kid in a Rockland, Massachusetts migrant shelter.

    ICE stated deportation officers from ERO Boston arrested Cory Bernard Alvarez on Tuesday close to his residence in Brockton, Massachusetts. 

    “Cory Bernard Alvarez has been charged with victimizing a minor in a Massachusetts migrant shelter,” stated ERO Boston Subject Workplace Director Todd M. Lyons. “He could have his day in court docket, and ERO Boston will proceed to cooperate with the felony court docket system in Massachusetts, however we can’t permit any important noncitizen menace to the kids of our communities to doubtlessly reoffend.

    ICE stated US Customs and Border Safety (CBP) company admitted Alvarez into the USA lawfully June 26, 2023, in New York Metropolis. 

    However Alvarez violated the phrases of his lawful admittance, ICE stated. 

    It stated the Rockland Police Division arrested Alvarez on March 14, and that, later that day, the Hingham District Court docket in Hingham arraigned Alvarez for aggravated rape of a kid, 10 years age distinction. 

    ICE stated ERO Boston lodged an immigration detainer towards Alvarez on the identical day with the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Workplace.

    However, on June 27, ICE stated Plymouth County Superior Court docket of Brockton refused to honor ERO Boston’s immigration detainer and launched Alvarez from custody on a US$500 bond. 

    ICE stated deportation officers from ERO Boston arrested Alvarez on Tuesday close to his residence in Brockton, and that he stays in ERO custody.
