GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – Discussions are underway to deliver the College of the West Indies (UWI) Faculty of Medication to Guyana, President Irfaan Ali introduced on Sunday.
The varsity shall be positioned in East Berbice-Corentyne, in Area Six.
Ali disclosed whereas addressing the commissioning ceremony of the Pathology Lab at Georgetown Public Hospital Company, three weeks after the groundbreaking for the New Amsterdam Hospital, which he stated would have a constructing to facilitate lessons.
“After we launched the New Amsterdam Hospital, we stated that we negotiated a constructing for instructing companies in that facility, and that message went out regionally and globally. Right now, I’m happy to tell you that the College of the West Indies Faculty of Medication has approached us to be a part of this imaginative and prescient of bringing their campus to Guyana, and negotiations and discussions may have commenced,” President Ali stated.
“Importantly, within the negotiations, we at the moment are engaged on guaranteeing that the charges are the identical as native college students in Trinidad and Tobago so there shall be fairness and high quality matched collectively.”
Acknowledging that the College of Guyana has its personal Faculty of Medication, Ali remarked, “Competitors is part of life and a necessity in bettering high quality.”
There has but to be a timeline for the UWI Faculty of Medication opening in Guyana.
