GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – The Ministry of Pure Sources on Thursday introduced that the Lancetfish-2 appraisal nicely within the Stabroek Block has resulted in a major discovery.
This marks the fourth offshore discovery in Guyana for 2023 and brings the overall variety of discoveries from 2015 up to now to 46.
The sooner discoveries made in 2023 embrace Fangtooth SE-1 and Lancetfish-1 within the Stabroek Block, in addition to the Wei-1 discovery within the Corentyne Block.
The Lancetfish-2 discovery within the Liza Petroleum Manufacturing License space has unveiled an estimated 20 meters of hydrocarbon-bearing reservoir, together with roughly 81 meters of further hydrocarbon-bearing sandstone.
This newly found reservoir will endure a complete appraisal course of, which aligns with the continuing appraisal actions for different discoveries within the area.
