GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – Regulation enforcement authorities say they’ve seized narcotics and alcohol price hundreds of thousands of {dollars} (One Guyana greenback=US$0.004 cents) at Crabwood Creek, Corentyne, Berbice.
The Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) stated that in collaboration with the Guyana Income Authority (GRA), they performed a joint operation as a part of efforts to stop the trafficking of narcotics and the smuggling of contraband items.
In a press release, CANU stated that in the course of the search, a number of parcels of suspected hashish and a number of other circumstances of “uncustomed” alcohol had been found and that the alleged narcotic was taken to the GRA location for processing and examined optimistic for imported hashish with a complete weight of 48.5 kilos and a road worth of GUY$12.5 million.
CANU gave no greenback worth for the alcohol seized and that nobody had been detained because of the joint operation. It stated investigations are persevering with.
