ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada, CMC – Police have charged a United States citizen with manslaughter following an investigation into the loss of life of a younger woman whose physique was discovered floating in a swimming pool of a lodge within the south of the island final week.
Police mentioned that Nihit Gurram, 22, a behavioral therapist from California, had been charged with “manslaughter by illegal hurt, for inflicting the loss of life of 22-year-old Siri Vaishnavi Mantena, a pupil from India.
“ The incident which resulted within the loss of life of Miss Mantena occurred on March seventeenth, 2024, at Grand Anse, St. George,” the police mentioned in a press release, including that Gurram is scheduled to look within the St. George’s Justice of the Peace’s Courtroom on Monday, March 25.
Final Monday, police confirmed that they had been investigating the loss of life after they had been known as to the lodge, including that “preliminary studies counsel that the deceased went swimming within the lodge swimming pool when she encountered difficulties within the water.”
The police mentioned then that she had been taken from the swimming pool, and CPR was administered, however she was unresponsive. She was subsequently pronounced lifeless by a medical physician.
