Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson hosted a Juneteenth Flag Elevating Ceremony at Lou Gehrig Plaza within the Bronx on Wednesday, June 18, honoring the legacy and resilience of enslaved People and their descendants.
Gibson, whose father hailed from Trinidad and Tobago, stated the Juneteenth ceremony symbolized “freedom, resilience, and a renewed dedication to justice.”
