The Guyana Elections Fee (GECOM) is reminding employers that they’re legally required to permit staff time without work to vote within the upcoming Basic and Regional Elections, scheduled for September 1, 2025.

In a press release, GECOM cited Part 81 (1) of the Illustration of the Individuals Act, which mandates that every one employers should allow eligible workers—besides these voting by proxy—to be absent from work for an inexpensive interval to forged their ballots.
