Almost 4 months after being dismissed as sports activities minister, Jonathan La Crette has confirmed that he has resigned from Grenada’s ruling Nationwide Democratic Congress (NDC).
In a textual content message to the Caribbean Media Company (CMC), he acknowledged the accuracy of social media stories concerning his departure from the social gathering. As of now, the NDC has not issued any official assertion addressing his resignation.
La Crette was defeated in the 2022 general election when he contested the St George’s Northwest constituency towards former Prime Minister, Dr Keith Mitchell, who has been representing the constituency since 1984.
A former educator, who resigned from his submit within the Ministry of Schooling in 2022 to affix the NDC and contest the final election, La Crette was fired by Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell seven months after he was appointed to the submit of sport minister following the January 2024 cupboard reshuffle.
