The Guyana Police Drive and the Guyana Defence Drive have launched a joint operation aimed toward preventing crime and tackling the reckless use of the nation’s roadways via using drones.
The drones are manned by the Guyana Defence Drive to maintain surveillance over a variety of areas throughout Georgetown.
The operation titled “Eyes within the Sky” is predicted to final for one month, and based on the police, it’s going to contain using low flying drones, so residents shouldn’t be alarmed after they see the drones.
The police mentioned the operation can even see a rise in police presence throughout town, with extra roadblocks, cease and search, visitors enforcement, roving patrols, and raids.
Moreover, there will probably be bike and bicycle campaigns, roadblock operations, cordons and searches, and the execution of warrants.
Members of the general public have been requested to provide their full help and cooperation to the joint companies.
