Neighborhood members, native leaders, and advocates are coming collectively to struggle for the way forward for the Ontario Science Centre. On Saturday, February 22, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Councillor Josh Matlow will co-host a rally alongside the Save Ontario’s Science Centre (Save OSC) group at Thorncliffe Park Public College.

The rally calls on all provincial candidates to decide to reopening, renewing, and reinvesting within the Science Centre at its authentic Don Mills location. The Ford authorities controversially shut down the Centre, citing structural issues, and proposed shifting it to Ontario Place. Nevertheless, Ontario’s Auditor Basic has since discovered that relocating the Science Centre would value no less than $300 million greater than conserving it in place, whereas lowering its measurement to one-third of its authentic footprint.
Native politicians, together with Councillors Rachel Chernos Lin and Lily Cheng, MP Rob Oliphant, and MPPs Adil Shamji, Jill Andrew, and Stephanie Bowman, will be a part of group leaders from Thorncliffe Park, Flemingdon Park, and Scarborough to demand that the Science Centre stay in its historic dwelling.
With the provincial election approaching, organizers are urging residents to vote for candidates who assist conserving this very important instructional establishment in the neighborhood.
