The Caribbean Group (CARICOM) has learnt, with deep unhappiness, of the passing of His Honour Justice Jacob Wit, esteemed Choose of the Caribbean Courtroom of Justice (CCJ).
Justice Wit served the Group and the broader authorized occupation in our Area with distinction and fervour for 18 years, earlier than retiring from the CCJ in December 2023.
His breadth of data and expertise in army, constitutional and worldwide human rights legislation drastically enriched the administration of justice within the Area.
The Group recognises his invaluable legacy of selling greatest practices in Caribbean jurisprudence, notably by his involvement with the CCJ Academy for Regulation.
CARICOM extends heartfelt condolences to his household, the authorized fraternity and all who mourn his loss.
