PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 rattled a number of cities within the Caribbean on Friday, however there have been no rapid stories of injury or accidents.
The Trinidad-based Seismic Analysis Centre (SRC) of the St. Augustine campus of the College of the West Indies (UWI) said that the quake occurred at 10:59 a.m. (native time) and was situated at a depth of 142 kilometers (km).
It said that the quake was felt 33 km northeast of Kingstown, the capital of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, 67 km southwest of Castries in St. Lucia, and 128 km south of Fort-de-France, the capital of the French island of Martinique.
