DUBAI, CMC – The 56-member Commonwealth has launched a brand new implementation framework that may facilitate coordinated motion amongst member nations on land, biodiversity, and local weather challenges, immediately impacting 1 / 4 of the world’s land space.
The Commonwealth Secretariat unveiled the Dwelling Lands Constitution Implementation Framework on the sidelines of the United Nations Local weather Change Convention (COP 28).
Commonwealth Secretary-Common Patricia Scotland KC stated the Commonwealth encompasses 1 / 4 of the world’s land space and is dwelling to a 3rd of the world’s mega-biodiverse nations.

The framework takes a system-wide strategy in direction of implementing the Dwelling Lands Constitution by means of 5 thematic motion areas: climate-resilient agriculture for meals safety; soil and water conservation; sustainable inexperienced cowl and biodiversity; carbon impartial and climate-resilient livestock rearing and animal husbandry; and indigenous and native folks for climate-resilient improvement.
The Commonwealth stated nations have stepped ahead to steer on precedence motion areas. It stated Guyana will champion motion on sustainable inexperienced cowl and biodiversity. On the similar time, Kenya will lead motion on climate-resilient agriculture for meals safety, and Malta will spearhead soil and water conservation.
