Goals of Canada’s ladies cricketers enjoying within the 2026 Worldwide Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup in England have been dashed final Monday after they have been overwhelmed by nemesis USA of their Americas Qualifier match that happened in Argentina.
It was the ultimate sport of the four-team round-robin competitors that included host-nation Argentina and Brazil.
USA will now transfer on the opposite Qualifier match to proceed their quest for a World Cup spot.
USA received the toss and opted to bat first. The choice was vindicated as they piled up a formidable 131-6 from the allotted 20-overs whereas the Canadian ladies responded with a disappointing 53 all out in 16-overs.
After an early collapse, solely Achini Perera provided a battle for Canada with 19 whereas Kainat Qazi chipped in with 14 to be the opposite batter reaching double-figures.
Their innings was suffering from off-spinner Chetnaa Prashad who grabbed 4-5 from two memorable overs on a full of life pitch.
