The celebrations of Emancipation Day had been designated a nationwide historic occasion in 2021. Parks Canada and the HSMBC marked the nationwide historic significance of Emancipation Day celebrations with a ceremony and reception in Toronto. Nadine Williams, a Jamaican-Canadian from St. Mary, Ontario, is an completed poet, creator, and artist.
