Calypso returns to the island this Friday

Ward’s Island Café is reopening a yr after a big hearth destroyed the café and neighborhood corridor.
The almost 100-year-old constructing was a well-liked assembly spot islanders and guests alike. The café is celebrating its grand opening on Friday, with beer sampling and stay music, in line with a put up on social media.
Shak Shak is a well-liked Toronto band and is energetic with Toronto Caribbean Carnival occasions. Shak Shak is led by singer/ songwriter/ guitarist Roger Gibbs, with Chris Wilson – keys, alto sax, accordion, Jim Bish – flutes, tenor sax, clarinet, and Wes Neal – acoustic bass.
The Band is an everyday night performer on the Island Café, which is a brief stroll from the Ward ‘s Island ferry dock on the Toronto Island.
“We’re returning to the Island Cafe on Friday, Oct. 3rd 6-9pm for our last look there for the yr,” Gibb advised the Caribbean Digital camera.
“As at all times we plan a night of traditional calypso favourites and far more……. in a backyard setting overlooking the water and Toronto’s skyline. We play what I wish to name Canadian Calypso. It has been actually in style with islanders and guests. There may be meals, a bar and everyone seems to be welcome. It’s a Pay What You Can occasion.”
